Cool Developer Privacy Policy

Cool Developer is an iPhone app made by an independent solo developer. This policy explains what the app does with information, in plain language. It applies to the app itself, not to any website or service it links to.

You do not sign up, and the app does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. It has nothing to identify you by.

The following is stored on your iPhone and is not sent anywhere by the app:

• Your App Store Connect API key (issuer ID, key ID, vendor number and the .p8 private key). The private key is held in the iOS Keychain, marked as available only on this device after first unlock.
• The report files downloaded from Apple, and the figures worked out from them, cached so the app opens quickly and asks Apple for less.
• Your settings: chosen app, period, funnel steps, chart style, app icon and whether the welcome tour has been seen.
• Reports you export, until you share or delete them yourself.

To show your numbers the app asks Apple's App Store Connect API for your own sales, subscription, finance and review reports. Those requests are signed with your key and go directly from your device to Apple. They are governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy, and by your agreement with Apple as a developer.

The app also asks Apple's public iTunes lookup endpoint for the icon of each app, using the app's public Apple ID.

One action writes to your App Store Connect account rather than reading from it: the button that asks Apple to start generating analytics reports (impressions and product page views). It only ever runs when you tap it.

Cool Developer Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; the app never sees your card, your Apple Account or your billing address.

Purchases are managed with RevenueCat, which acts as a processor on the developer's behalf. When you buy, restore or renew, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID, the App Store transaction and receipt information for that purchase, and basic device and platform details such as the app version, iOS version, device model and country. This is used to work out whether your subscription is active, and for the developer's own aggregate sales figures. It is not used for advertising.

The app's insights, the coach and the answers to your questions run on your device by default, with no network access at all.

You can instead choose a cloud provider — Anthropic, DeepSeek, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — and supply your own API key. Nothing is sent to a provider unless you switch this on. When it is on, what is sent is a compact summary of the figures already on your screen:

• Totals and percentage changes for the window in view.
• The country, device, product and source mix as shares.
• Funnel step rates, anomalies, and your question if you asked one.
• Never your API keys, never raw report files, and never anything about your customers.

Cool Developer contains no advertising, no analytics SDK, no third-party trackers, and no crash reporter of its own. It does not read your contacts, photos, location or health data. It does not sell or share information with data brokers.

If you have turned on sharing with Apple in iOS Settings, Apple may collect crash and usage data for the app under its own policy. That is between you and Apple, and the developer sees only aggregate, anonymous figures in App Store Connect.

The app is a tool for people who publish apps on the App Store. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from them.

Because there is no account, most of what the app holds is simply on your phone. Deleting the app removes the cached reports, the settings and the stored key. You can also remove the key on its own from Settings, or turn off the cloud AI provider at any time.

For the purchase records held by RevenueCat and Apple, write to support@cooldeveloper.app with the date and the store you bought from, and the developer will have them deleted or provide a copy. Apple keeps its own record of the transaction under its own policy.

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date, and a material change will be mentioned in the app before it takes effect.
